CLIENT ACCESS

Our Strategy

ZWJ exists to serve our clients and help them succeed financially. Open and regular communication is a key factor in success. We get to know you up front and meet with you periodically to review any changes that could impact your financial situation or investment strategy.

Fundamental ZWJ Principles

Getting Started

During our initial meetings, to lay the groundwork crucial for future success, we will:

  • Listen carefully
  • Help you clearly define your investment objectives
  • Create your personalized investment policy statement identifying desired return and appropriate risk tolerance
  • Determine the asset allocation that will best achieve your goals

Ongoing Communication

To ensure the best possible long-term results, regular updates are a must. Let us know about:

  • Any changes in personal circumstances that affect your financial strategy
  • Relevant tax issues outside our domain

We will provide:

  • Periodic reviews of your investment objectives and asset allocation
  • Detailed, easy-to-read quarterly reports
  • Rather than mirror the market’s performance benchmarks, we seek to outperform them within the guidelines of your objectives.
  • Purchase and sell decisions are always based on diligent research. We carefully scrutinize every company whose securities we consider for purchase, and closely track those in which we have positions.
  • To select equities for our clients’ accounts, we screen a universe of stocks to obtain a working list we believe merits serious consideration. After extensive quantitative and qualitative research, we reduce this universe to a maximum of 75 stocks. From this active list, approximately 50 stocks are included in a client’s portfolio.
  • The decision to include a stock on our Active List is made collectively by the investment committee. No portfolio manager alone can put a stock on the list. This means that each client receives the benefit of the best thinking of our investment team.
  • We believe it is impossible to time the stock market. Cyclical factors should be considered, but trying to anticipate highs and lows in the market is speculation. Our focus is on sustainable investment results.
