John Shepard is a principal, portfolio manager, and a member of the Investment Policy Committee for Zeliff Wallace Jackson Investment Counsel.

Mr. Shepard joined Zeliff Wallace Jackson in 2003, and has over years of investment management experience. His investment career began in 1987, as an analyst at First Wachovia Investment Management in Atlanta, covering health care and transportation issues. Mr. Shepard was a portfolio manager at Wellington Management from 1989-1999, managing separate accounts on behalf of pension funds, endowments, and private individuals. From 1999-2003, he managed Shepard Investment Counsel.

Mr. Shepard is a graduate of Duke University with a BA in Economics. He earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business with a concentration in Finance. A Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder, Mr. Shepard is a member of the CFA Institute and the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts.

Mr. Shepard is active in the community serving as an elder at Trinity Presbyterian Church and on the Board of Trustees of Trinity School. He is the past president of the Duke in Atlanta Alumni Association and the Lovett Alumni Association. Mr. Shepard is active in scouting and is Committee Chairman of Troop 232 and a past Cubmaster for Pack 212.

He and his wife, Peggy, have a son, Duncan, and a daughter, Margaret.
